The plant in Georgia that produced peanut butter tainted by salmonella has a history of sanitation lapses and was cited repeatedly in 2006 and 2007 for having dirty surfaces and grease residue and dirt buildup throughout the plant, according to health inspection reports. CHICAGO (AFP) – The Illinois governor accused of trying to auction off a US Senate seat for personal gain said in an interview Monday he considered naming television talk show star Oprah Winfrey to the job.

Rod Blagojevich, indicted by federal prosecutors on corruption charges, told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that he thought about appointing the influential, mega-rich talk show queen to fill the seat formerly occupied by President Barack Obama. Read the rest of this entry »

Caylee’s Grandfather Hospitalized For Psychiatric Evaluation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police have confirmed that George Anthony, Caylee Anthony’s grandfather, was found in a Daytona Beach motel at about 1 a.m. Friday with suicide notes.

Police said he had not harmed himself, but he was Baker-Acted and taken to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. He was undergoing psychiatric evaluation. The Florida Baker Act is a voluntary or involuntary means of detention for mental health evaluation and treatment. Individuals are held not more than 72 hours. Read the rest of this entry »
