Caveman and the Swearing in of 44th President

Posted by lawman2 on January 20, 2009

I couldn’t help but wonder why is Michelle’s tongue out? hehehe

Well, Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th president of the United States today Tuesday Jan. 20,2009 before a massive crowd reveling in a moment of historical significance, and called on Americans to confront together an economic crisis that he said was caused by “our collective failure to make hard choices.”

FAILURE TO MAKE HARD CHOICES? I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t asked about any of “those” hard choices!   I don’t write tigger checks that keep bouncing and  bouncing around the world!  I try real hard to never rob Peter to pay Paul… But understandably with 11 million Americans out of work and trillions of dollars lost in the stock market’s tumble, Obama emphasized that his biggest challenge is to repair the tattered economy left behind by outgoing President George W. Bush.

“Our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed,” Obama said. “Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin the work of remaking America.”

It was a day of high spirits — jarred by sudden concern about the health of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, a legendary Democrat who is suffering from brain cancer. He was rushed from a Senate luncheon in honor of Obama. “This is a joyous time but it’s also a sobering time,” Obama said. “And my prayers are with him and his family and (Kennedy’s wife) Vicki.”

In his inaugural address, Mr. Obama acknowledged the change his presidency represented, describing himself in his inaugural address as a “man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant.” But although the crowd and the podium around him were full of elated African Americans, Mr. Obama, the first black to become president, did not dwell on that in his speech.

Someone asked in a comment "What does mlk stand for?" I was laughing so hard when I replied "I don't know, maybe milk." Of course my wife scolded me. BUT I just couldn't believe anyone wouldn't know who Martin Luther King was.

Truth is I didn’t vote for Obama, when it comes to politics I am color blind,  but as a 1/2 black male, I can tell you it sure felt good watching him  take the oath!  This is a new day in our great Nation, and I am so proud I am alive to see it!

I watched today with both my parents and wife, as my mother fought back the tears of joy!  What a hard life she has lived being a black woman married to a white man.  My parents were never wealthy by any standards, but they worked hard and loved even harder.  My mother pushed my brother and I to succeed she kept telling us “This world is yours to change, and you can be the first black president of the USA if you want to be.”  My brother and I have both succeeded past most peoples expectations, but neither of us ever wanted to be president…hehehe

Cavemen like their big boy toys!  AND what fun would there be in putting them away?  My wife just smiled her sly little liberal smile when I flinched at the very idea of having to grow up.  Damn those liberals on this site and their world peace ice cream anyway!

BACK TO MY POST:   My point is this, no matter which party you voted for, even the racist full of hate ignorant people out there were completely aware of the historical significance of this day.  AND even if you didn’t feel the sense of pride, you sure could see it on everyone else’s face!   I am proud to be an American, where dreams combined with hard work and ambition do come true!

MLK would be so proud!

What ever tough guy! I happen to know if anything comes on T.V. that is even remotely pornagraphic you blush and walk out of the room for an escape from the nudity.

Let’s see wasn’t it you that said “men who hire hookers and/or strippers represent some of the most degenerated of our society” LOL

You’re all talk there Caveman! Bring it on!

Your Mom taught you to have more respect for women than you do for anything else. Your mother is a great example of how women can mold morally superior men!
