Hawaii again declares Obama birth certificate real

(07-27) 22:54 PDT Honolulu (AP) —

State officials in Hawaii on Monday said they have once again checked and confirmed that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen, and therefore meets a key constitutional requirement for being president.

They hoped to stem a recent surge in the number of inquiries about Obama’s birthplace.

“I … have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen,” Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said in a brief statement. “I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.”

So-called “birthers” — who claim Obama is ineligible to be president because, they argue, he was actually born outside the United States — have grown more vocal recently on blogs and television news shows.

Fukino issued a similar press release Oct. 31, but was prompted to speak out again because of the renewed attention on Obama’s beginnings. Hawaii’s Health Department has been flooded in recent weeks with questions from individuals and several national TV news networks asking for proof that Obama was indeed born in Hawaii.

“They just keep asking over and over and over again,” Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said.

The Constitution states that a person must be a “natural-born citizen” to be eligible for the presidency. Birthers contend that Obama’s birth certificate is a fake, and many say he was actually born in Kenya, his father’s homeland. They’ve challenged his citizenship in court.

One widely circulated YouTube clip of a town hall meeting showed a Republican congressman getting booed for saying Obama is a citizen. Talk show host Rush Limbaugh and CNN’s Lou Dobbs have also raised the issue, and 10 Republican members of Congress co-sponsored a bill that would require future presidential candidates to provide a copy of their original birth certificate.

However, it appears Congress has moved on and has accepted Obama’s island birthplace. The U.S. House on Monday unanimously approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming the 50th state. A clause was included that reads: “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.”

State law bars the release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest.

However, Obama’s birth certificate along with birth notices from the two Honolulu newspapers were brought forward even before he took office. But that’s done nothing to shake the belief by many Obama critics that the president was born abroad.

The fact is Obama still has not shown his original birth certificate. We’re supposed to accept an individual declairing “I’ve seen it” as sufficient proof? The obvious actions by liberals to force society to accept verification by a 3rd party’s word is just more of the same old tactics from them. Accept it or be labeled irrational and crazy. Ridiculous… yet at the same time, congress has co-sponsored a bill that would require future presidential candidates to provide a copy of their original birth certificate. Uh… citizens of this country are just asking for something that will soon be required in the future. Yah.. I know, it’s just so crazy and insane to request such a thing but oh well.. call us crazy then… (Why this reguirement was not established sooner is beyond me.)

Bill explains it much better than me…

I have a birth certificate. If you were born in the United States, you do too, or you can get one. Why can’t the leader of the free world, the President of the United States, produce his birth certificate??? The White House and the media have done a masterful job at painting anyone who asks this legitimate question as a whackjob, a conspiracy nutcase, someone who has lost their mind. The fact is, even FOX News, most every conservative radio host who makes their living hammering King Obama, are too afraid to talk about this issue.

Let me cut through all of the hype and break this down for you. It is actually a very simple issue anyone can understand. To be the President of the United States, you must be born in this country. Anyone born in the United States can get a birth certificate that details all of the pertinent information surrounding his or her birth. Everyone who is reading this today who was born in the United States either has a birth certificate or you can get one. Understanding that, why does President Obama refuse to produce his birth certificate?

Over the past year, there have been hundreds of legal challenges to whether President Obama was actually born in the United States or in Kenya, making him ineligible to be our President. What initially caught my attention was the fact that the Obama Presidential Campaign, and now the Obama Administration, has spent well over a million dollars fighting these legal challenges to his eligibility. Why would you spend $1 when the whole issue can be settled by simply producing your birth certificate????

I am not going to take time to go into all of the legal challenges or recount the incredible amount of time and effort many people have spent on this issue. My friend Joe Farrah of WorldNetDaily has been the leader in the reporting and investigation of this issue. You can go to http://www.wnd.com and find dozens of articles on this issue, where investigative reporters have been to Kenya, been to the hospitals in Hawaii, and have been blocked by Obama’s people at every turn.

The bottom line is that years ago when President Obama ran for the Senate, he produced a short form “Certificate of Live Birth” that at the time was never challenged. This is NOT an actual birth certificate, but a document anyone can get, even if they were born in a foreign country. His actual long-form birth certificate is the document anyone born in the United States has and can produce, and the document Obama has REFUSED to provide. The link below give you a very good description of the difference between the two documents. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=101483

  3. So in other words Kay you want Obama to come to your house with the document you say is required, even though all the relevant officials in Hawaii have vouched for its existence and integrity over and over again, and also emphasised that the shorter document is acceptable as proof of birth. I suppose they are all corrupt, or CIA agents?
He would have to show it to you in person, because otherwise you would be taking the word of a third party. And he would have to show it in person to every birther in America.

He isn’t going to: get over it.
The reason this requirement was not established sooner is because this is the first time a president’s opponents have employed such a venal and humiliating tactic with such vigour. This bill belittles the office of your President, and all of you. The aim of this campaign is to make Obama dance to the right’s tune, and if he does, capitalise on the ‘weakness’ shown. It’s shameful.

    But it isn’t new:

in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

Hi Hors… of course there are times when a 3rd party’s word is the best we can do… in this case, that is not true AND we aren’t talking about a football game here, that’s what makes this issue so ridiculous.. it’s not the “birthers” who are being unreasonable..it’s the liberaly biased Obama lovers who are being unreasonable… It’s absoulutely LUDACRIS to not expect solid proof in this situation! And to stoop to the level of making slanderous and unsupported accusations just because we want valid proof… something that WILL be REQUIRED in the future… is what??? A “low down dirty” tactic. It is true to form Liberal hypocrisy.

It’s such a joke when I see CNN having a “debate” about this issue and not having someone represent the opposing view..

It’s really frustrating when they present what seems to be a good point supporting Obama’s citizenship and then not have someone on the opposing side to speak to that point… good “fair and balanced” reporting CNN. There are valid reasons why people are still questioning his citizenship but you won’t learn of those reasons on CNN. Anyone with any intelligence what so ever is not going to fall for their biased slanted reporting. And then they have the nerve to claim ” we have debunced the myth here on CNN”. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAH What freakin’ IDIOTS! ok.. i’m done ranting…

Betty.. you have to be kidding… the reason “birthers” are questioning his citizenship is to make him “dance to their tune”? “Hahahahah… we made you show us your birth certificate”… yeah.. ok.

I don’t need to see it in person… just post a copy of it like they have the short, easier to get, certificate.

“venal and humiliating tactic” ?? See. This issue has never come up before because we have never been in this situation… this man had a problem wearing the American flag on his lapel, he had a symbol on his plane that questioned his loyalty to this country … he has close personal ties to a domestic terrorist, he has ties to Islamic terrorists thru his attorneys…. the SAME attorneys who he has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to so he wouldn’t have to show his real birth certificate… Betty… when were you born??

if we were to go with the birther theory, then the conspiracy would have been started before obama was born. his grandparents were good about going to the hawaiian newspaper to have a birth announcement made for their grandkid, 48 years ago!

birthers are invalidating the hawaiian state offices authority and integrity. the state should sue whoever is responsible for all the disturbance. oh but it’s not worth all that.

how about starting another conspiracy thing: joe biden is behind all this. he really wants to be president.

That is exactly what I was curious about on the CNN “debate”… they brought up the birth anouncement that was in the paper (supposedly). I would have really liked to hear what the other side had to say about that… but guess what… there was no one from the other side… If the other side had no argument then it would have really helped to end this “conspiracy”.. instead CNN just declared “controversy solved”. Wouldn’t it have been in their best (biased) interest to have someone there going uh…uh… I don’t know…

Why do I have this feeling that if the situation were reversed and it was a republican with conservative agendas, you all wouldn’t be saying a thing in their defense.

Hi Kay! It’s ok then that CNN doesn’t have fair debates, because I don’t watch CNN^^ So I can’t be biaised;)

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/10/04/obamas-lapels/ it seems a really sensible reason for me not to wear the american flag on the lapel.

In France, it’s forbidden to show the national flag for a candidate’s advertisement.
Of course it’s different in America, but the symbol on his plane was blue with red stripes, is it putting in question his patriotism?

    Close personal ties?
If you mean the same terrorist as I think, they just lived in the same street, knew each other (with nothing pesonnal), and Obama was 8 when Ayers committed his crimes.

And even terrorists do have the right to have a lawyer. Like murderers, rapists, or Tobacco industries. It’s called a fair trial. The lawyer doesn’t necessarly have the same ideas as the one he defend.

Strange, but to me it really seems like multiple (and very vile) rumors called to discredit a political opponent.
Yes, it’s true, I kind of like Obama, so I’m biaised. But I liked McCain too, even if I don’t agree with his ideas.

Hi Hors… okay, so I guess were going to get into 2 debates now (well actually 3) I know I still need to respond to that original one.

Yes, I am aware of Obama’s “reason” for not wearing the flag pin. Hors, your gullibility is really showing here. His excuse is the most ridiculous and weakest “reason” I think I’ve ever heard in the history of “reasons”… in other words, it’s a bunch of CRAP!!… and here’s why…

First, a person running for the President of this country should NEVER reject the American flag for any reason what so ever.. it represents the sacrifices of the men and women who lost their lives for this country for one. The flag Certainly should not be rejected by the potential LEADER of this country and certainly not to make a political point. He SHOULD have found a different way to do it.

Sure he wore the flag pin after 9/11… when did he stop? Possibly when it might jeopardize financial contributions that would aid him in his political quest? There is more to this than you realize Hors… Obama was the most financed candidate to date in American History. And the fact that he opted to not reveal who his major contributors were was one of many questionable things he has done.

    You said: “Close personal ties?
If you mean the same terrorist as I think, they just lived in the same street, knew each other (with nothing pesonnal), and Obama was 8 when Ayers committed his crimes.”

It goes a little bit deeper than that Hors… Obama’s statements early on in his campaign were very misleading…

For one, Bill Ayers helped Obama early on in his quest for Illinois state Senate and threw a fundraiser for him.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,437201,00.html?loomia_ow=t0:s0:a16:g12:r4:c0.693842:b25421742:z0

My guess is that Ayers also personally contributed to his campaign…. “hey if you don’t wear the flag pin, I’ll contribute x amount of dollars”… possibly stretching in this instance but it gives you an idea I think…

Much more likely… his contributors in the middle east… who have lots of money and influence. Would they be pleased if Obama showed signs (omission of the American flag) of where his true loyalty lies? Uh, yes. I personaly think that Obama was pandering for money… that it may not go deeper than that. Still, you don’t sacrifice the American flag to do it. He should get “the boot” for that alone!

Ayers loyalty to this country is legitamely questioned… Ayers has aided Obama in his political campaigns. Do the math… and get the FACTS… right?

That Obama won’t reveal all of his campaign contributors, that he is linked to the same attorneys who have also defended Islamic terrorist suspects,

that he coincidently REMOVED the American flag emblem from his campaign plane right before he took his trip to the Middle East for the first time… and replaced it with a symbol that has overwhelmingly obvious significance in the Muslim world… is extremely questionable!!!

Financial contributors in the middle east?… I’m guessing yes…

Obama didn’t want to make it a political point: but his opponents, yes. He didn’t talked about it when he put it off: he was following his conscience, which seems a good point to me.
Like he said, a lot of very demonstrative patriotic american politician where doing not very patriotic acts.

Why would it jeopardize a financial contribution from the ennemies of the USA?! They don’t care about a pin! They care about laws and policies!

Like I’ve already said, if Obama was really anti-american, he would have shown maximum patriotism!

And Obama’s major contributor was the mass of the people: he was the first one to organize such a wide donation raising, by using internet and all new medias.
As a question, because I don’t know on this point: In America, does the law forces candidates to provide the list of their contributors?

Bush did have some very sulfurous businessmen as his contributors, but that didn’t prevented him from becoming president… Oh yeah, he was showing so much patriotism, invading a foreign country and so on…

Bill Ayers? He has given money for Obama. Ok. But that doesn’t make them friends.
After a bit of reading, it appears that, I think, Ayers was loyal to the country, but wanted it to change, by violent ways if necessary. Which is still bad, i grant you.
In France, the own brother of our Attorney General was found guilty of drug dealing. And our Attorney General made no opposition to sent him in jail.

I’ve asked some muslims I know about the flag: well, they didn’t find the symbol, I had to search on the net… Not so obvious…
Hey! Got an idea! Obama is JAPANESE! It’s the symbol of the Rising Sun!
    ^^
Rising sun is a symbol for a lot of people, and always a good one, I think that explains this.
And it’s blue with red stripes! It’s pratically an american flag!

He’s linked to attorneys who defended Islamic terrorists suspects? You mean the same ones that got in prison in guantanamo illegaly, were kept without a trial or without knowing why for years, and then released because they couldn’t find any evidence against them?
Seems rather a point in his advantage, then^^

In a democracy, terrorists have attorneys. They’re defended. It’s because WE are not terrorists.

You can’t call yourself the good guys and do evil things.

Kay, Fox News is so bad and oriented that even in France we sometimes tooks it as an example of non-objective filthy media.
This doesn’t mean it doesn’t tell truths from times to times.
But not so much, I’m afraid.

Like he said, a lot of very demonstrative patriotic american politician where doing not very patriotic acts.”

Then he should have addressed those politicians and their actions in public, it makes no sense to bring the American Flag into it. It wasn’t America’s fault that these people behaved “unpatriotically”. It’s a ridiculous excuse.

The reason he didn’t talk about it was because he knew it wasn’t a very good excuse.

You said: “Why would it jeopardize a financial contribution from the ennemies of the USA?! They don’t care about a pin! They care about laws and policies!”

Ok, let’s put it this way. First, we’re not talking about a “pin”. It’s a symbol of PATRIOTISM. It’s especially significant when it’s the man running for the most patriotic position in the country. Second, I already explained this but I’ll explain it again… there are many people from other parts of the world who would LOVE to have a man who is president of this country be sympathetic to them and their causes and possibly even more loyal to their country than his own. For him to not personally display the American flag whether it’s on his lapel or on his plane or where ever, IS sending a message to these people. Whether he was misleading them for his own personal gain or he was being truthful to them I really don’t know. Which by the way, pretty much shoots your idea, of me being a conspiracy theorist monger, right to hell. Because if I was, I’d surely be saying that he is working for the Muslims or whatever you think I think. Which I did already point out in my previous comment when I said I believed he was most likely just pandering for money,( that he was not a “double agent”).

You said: “Like I’ve already said, if Obama was really anti-american, he would have shown maximum patriotism!”

First, if you’ll notice, I never necessarily said he was anti American. Second, no..he would not show maximum patriotism if he wanted to mislead the wealthy muslims that he wasn’t truly loyal to this country ( as I explained earlier). My point has been that he wanted campaign donations from people who are anti American, so he wanted them to think that he may not be loyal to this country. Do I know that for sure? That he isn’t truly anti American? No, I don’t. And I won’t let a common liberal threat of being labeled a “wacko conspiracy theorist” stop me from saying that.

You said: “Bill Ayers? He has given money for Obama. Ok. But that doesn’t make them friends.”

That Ayers supported Obama politically makes it better than if they were just friends?

But they were also friends, from what I understand Obama has been to dinner at Ayer’s home several times.

Obama made a mistake when he wasn’t up front and honest from the beginning about Ayers.

You said: “He’s linked to attorneys who defended Islamic terrorists suspects? You mean the same ones that got in prison in guantanamo illegaly, were kept without a trial or without knowing why for years, and then released because they couldn’t find any evidence against them?
Seems rather a point in his advantage, then^^”

Uh, no. It’s the same attorneys who have defended members of Cair, a Muslim American organization that was founded by known Islamic terrorists. I’ll just mention that this is also a probable avenue for receiving some of those donations from people who are anti american. Obama’s spent lot’s of money defending not having to produce his birth certificate… or possibly he really never had to pay them anything (in actuality).

You said: “In a democracy, terrorists have attorneys. They’re defended. It’s because WE are not terrorists.”

Gee, thanks for telling me that Hors.. I didn’t know that ^^.

We have lots and lots of attorneys here… he should have picked another firm.. but then he would have really had to pay all of that money to fight showing his birth certificate!

I personally don’t care for Fox news myself. It was just the most convienient one to copy and paste (acknowledging that I knew it would probably get critisism)… If it is necessary, I will find a more reliable source, I have no doubt I will be able to.

“The reason he didn’t talk about it was because he knew it wasn’t a very good excuse.”

I don’t think so. I think he is showing political fairness, intelligence, as he doesn’t want that the flag became a debate.
Anyway, not wearing the flag is something that goes totally unnoticed in the Middle-East. Seems that his machiavelous project hasn’t succeed^^

Okay, so you think he’s begging for money? Then, where did the money for Clinton and others came from? Okay, Obama’s funds were a record, but it’s no so much more from the precedent campaigns, and can largely explained by the small donations i was talking about.

    You said:
“That Ayers supported Obama politically makes it better than if they were just friends?”

Nope. And right extremists gave money for McCain, mormons were on his side and funded him. Israel lobbyists, too. It’s still a foreign country. And a not so much respectable one…
I still don’t say that McCain is a religious freak because his Vice-President was.
In fact, I kind of appreciate McCain, even if I disagree with a lot of his positions.

“But they were also friends, from what I understand Obama has been to dinner at Ayer’s home several times. ”

Reunions and political support diners. You know that in politics, dinning with someone doesn’t really mean anything. It’s more temporary alliances…

“Obama made a mistake when he wasn’t up front and honest from the beginning about Ayers. ”

According to what I’ve heard from France, he was. But the news here aren’t focused on this story… It’s the american elections, and the politicals and the medias in France aren’t used to this type of junk-attacks. We have a different type of junk-attacks^^

And Ayers wasn’t anti-patriotic. He was violently anti-war, wanted to change the system by force… But it’s still for America. Anti-patriotism is teaming with other countries to help them get bits of the country.

“It’s the same attorneys who have defended members of Cair, a Muslim American organization that was founded by known Islamic terrorists.”

Attorneys works for people who pay them, and didn’t always share their ideology.

“Obama’s spent lot’s of money defending not having to produce his birth certificate… or possibly he really never had to pay them anything (in actuality).”

Oh yeah?! I didn’t heard that he hired an attorney. And why would he need one, his birth in Hawaii is obvious…

“he should have picked another firm..”

Obama is rich enough. And he isn’t stupid. If he knew it, he would have hired another firm, so that no suspicion could arose. If Obama was really opportunist, he would show much more patriotism.

Other arguments: If Obama received funds from terrorists, or EVEN middle east contributors, 1) isn’t it forbidden? 2) he would have been caught. Candidates are watched very attentively from every side (including CIA, FBI…)

And why, now that he is President, keep his promises to hypotetic middle east contributors? He doesn’t need them anymore.

    To finish,
“or else you are doing that thing where you’re really not trying to find the truth but win the debate.”

If I had so much interest in winning debates, I could have defended pornography. Which I didn’t do^^

“And honestly, it is ridiculous to NOT question Obama with all of these things I’ve mentioned… and you know that too!”

No. Even if Obama wasn’t born in America, that wouldn’t really change anything to me. Patriotism is not a genetic caracter. And I’m sure he is born in Hawaii.

He has a more conciliatory approach of the middle east, true, but well, the last president was a crusader. And it didn’t worked. Let’s have a bit of a new approach?

Read the “certificate of live birth” well: it’s at the bottom:

“This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding”.

Say what you want Kay, it’s an evidence, a proof, or whatever you need.
    Now, let’s eat cake.

Not so fast with the cake… here are a few comments from your link Hors..

“That is not his Birth Certificate. It is a substitute. Also, in 1961 they would have described the father’s race as “African?” We have to produce our Birth Certs. for school, driver’s licenses and passports, but Barak does not have to produce it to run for President?

The writer should have to produce his.”

What a FAKE! Typeface is obviously from a modern computer. Would have been typwritten in 1961.

This is not a birth certificate…………..

You could not even leave the country with this piece of paper.

Where is the hospitial birth certificate.

Show us the the birth certificate………………….

Did they have Laser Printers in 1961? Why is everything in all caps except the date. Seems odd.

Posted by: Nolan | June 16, 2008 at 07:40 AM

Andrew, it’s disappointing that a journalist your age would push a fake birth certificate as real.

I’ll give you credit for being gullible, if you remove this nonsense ASAP.

There is no signature, official stamp, and the font wasn’t around in 1961.

Posted by: george | June 16, 2008 at 08:27 AM

Wow, I hate to tell you vaunted journalists how to do your job, but why haven’t you guys asked Obama for his BIRTH CERTIFICATE as officially filed in the state of Hawaii and not just a scanned copy of a reprinted CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH which is typically not an acceptable document to replace a BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

Most of us have already figured out that Obama was born alive.

Posted by: mpur | June 16, 2008 at 11:19 AM

Notice the lower left corner of the document.
    Rev 11/01…
What was the revision? Clearly not an original.

Posted by: Randall McCoy | June 18, 2008 at 06:46 PM

the problem was not where he was born, but if his mother was a citizen or not. According to WND: Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: “If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for ’10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.'” He then points out Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, was 18 when Obama was born “so she wouldn’t have met the requirement of five years after the age of 16.”
(Interestingly, apparently there isn’t much paperwork on Obama’s parents’ marriage. ‘Obama: From Promise to Power,’ page. 27: ‘Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama’s maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married.’ Also note that Obama’s father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation.)”
Even then one of my friends said this recently :When I needed a passport in 1999, I couldn’t find my birth certificate. So I contacted the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Missouri for a copy. They sent me a “BIRTH CERTIFICATION”. It shows my name at birth, date of birth, sex, city of birth, mother’s maiden name, age and state of birth and father’s name, age and state of birth. It also shows an original date filed and the actual date of issue, March 26, 1999. It has a note at the bottom that says “The reproduction of this document is prohibited by law. Any alteration or erasure voids this certification. So, when I saw the copy of Obama’s certificate, it looked OK. Then, I noticed the big blank space on the bottom right side. So, I got out the one I received and there are no voids. What seems to be missing on Obama’s copy is the signature of the State Registrar of Vital Statistics and the raised state seal. Even if you can’t see the seal is raised in a photocopy, the state seal should be there. I was a claims rep at Social Security for seven years. The copy of Obama’s certificate wouldn’t be acceptable as proof of age or citizenship if he was filing a claim for benefits because of the missing signature and seal. No state office issues an official birth record or death record without a signature and seal authenticating the document. So, where did this thing come from? In this age of technology, the document could easily be a computer creation. Again, without the registrar’s signature and state seal, this is worth about as much as several pieces of toilet paper.

Is Barack Eligible to be President?
    By Larry Johnson

I must admit I initially thought this was a farfetched question. But there is a significant body of evidence, some circumstantial, that suggests the answer may be “no.” An internet friend (Katherine) has pursued this relentlessly. She sent me the following:

According to the state laws in Hawaii that were in effect at the time of Obama’s birth, a child must be born to “TWO” U.S. Citizen parents (this law was in effect from “December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986,“ which means it applies to Barack’s birth.

But only Barack’s mom was a U.S. Citizen. Papa Obama was a citizen of Kenya. Well, the Hawaiian law stiplulates that:
…If only one parent was a U.S. Citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least FIVE of which had to be after the age of 16.”

It appears that Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means she was shy of the 21 years of age required by the law. In other words, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship. At what point was Barack Obama Jr., son of Barack Obama Sr., recognized by the U.S. Government as an American citizen? When he moved to Indonesia with his mother and step-father in the mid-1960s I am assuming he had a U.S. passport.

There is a law suit in the works. Of that you can be sure. As was noted in an early post today on No Quarter, Barack’s stubbornness on the birth certificate issue is keeping the matter alive. Not a good idea going into the General Election.

I am not a Constitutional scholar (nor is Barack for that matter). The relevant clause of the Constitution stipulates that:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

Now, I had always assumed that a naturalized citizen (like Arnold) could not be President. but the clause, “or a citizen of the United States,” seems to open the door for people who become citizens. Any lawyers out there?

this is from bill keller’s dullvotional from today 8/20/09

***WHERE WAS PRESIDENT OBAMA BORN? Watch this fascinating look at one of the biggest controversies of our day. The mainstream media, even many in the conservative media, have labeled those who question if President Obama was actually born in Hawaii as he claims as “nutjobs,” whackos”, and “racists.” However, the most important question still has to be answered. Why won’t President Obama produce his official, long form, State of Hawaii birth certificate. Watch this powerful and informative infomercial regarding at this issue, hosted by Liveprayer’s Bill Keller, that will soon be airing on secular TV stations and networks around the country.

ohh looky, keller is going nationwide again. with an infomercial, haha!
All that debt and still he wastes his donors money on such foolishness, stirring up hate and fear, just to make a name for himself and a few more $$$$.

and bill keller, i don’t recall obama calling stupid birthers like you as “nutjobs, whackos and racists”, even though that is what you are.

quit making up lies, felon keller.

Yay!!!! I’m so glad Bill is doing this! He will get a lot of exposure yes, and he obviously is using donations to do it but most likely he’s using money donated specifically for this. He’s keeping the “pot stirred”. Good.

The question STILL remains… why is Obama spending so much money to prevent his actual birth certificate from being seen?

This country is to great to have someone lead it on the premise of a complete lie. And it’s too great to have someone lead it who wants to turn it into a socialist country. And it’s too great to have someone lead it who doesn’t respect human life.

I wish he was a republican and a conservative (and no question of his citizenship ) then this country would be even greater for finally having a “non-white” president. But unfortunately that is not the case.

I don’t know if Biden will be any better but can he be any worse? For a start, I think less people (babies) will be killed under him.

P.T. Barnum Laughs – The Birther Infomercial, Stealing From Suckers $30 At A Time
    By dday

TPM Muckraker has found the next late-night sensation – a birther infomercial entitled “Where Was President Obama Born.” It’s already received the usual 1:00-in-the-morning airing on at least one local TV station in Texas. The United States Justice Foundation, a Birther front group led by the aptly named Gary Kreep, paid $100 to the CBS affiliate in Lubbock for the privilege of gracing their airwaves. That seems like money well spent for the Birthers for reaching a few thousand eyeballs or so and filling them with wingnut ideology. But that’s not the true purpose.

For a $30 contribution, viewers also get a fax sent in their name to the 50 state attorneys general and Attorney General Eric Holder demanding that President Obama produce his real birth certificate.

Getting 4 suckers to fork over $30 for nothing covers their whole expense, and looking at the production values, producing the episode didn’t cost much more than $100 either. This is pure conservative hucksterism, where a few people make money off of whipping up fears for no real purpose.

And Bill Keller, the host of the birthermercial, is perfectly positioned to be that huckster – he’s a fundamentalist preacher:

The program was produced by LivePrayer.com, a Web site affiliated with Bill Keller, a fundamentalist Christian minister who also hosts the infomercial.

Imprisoned in the late 1980s after an insider trading conviction, Keller later committed his life to God, attended Liberty University in Virginia, and founded Bill Keller Ministries, according to his bio. LivePrayer.com was “founded for the sole purpose of having a site on the internet where people can go 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for prayer.”

This has about as much of a chance at dislodging Barack Obama from office as the Sham-Wow, but both infomercials have the same goal – to get rich off of selling you garbage. Sadly, there are probably enough morons in America to make Gary Kreep and Bill Keller very wealthy men.

KAY, BILL KELLER IS SUCH A CROOK AND LIAR.
