A Different Kind of Blog

news and things sacred and irreverent put together by opinionated people.

And now for some funny political satire of the Republican kind…oh wait — this is really happening!

“Rick Santorum’s socially conservative brand has helped him break through with a last-minute surge in Iowa. But his agenda isn’t restricted to reimposing ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ outlawing gay marriage nationwide, or promoting prayer in public schools. Santorum also wants to use the federal tax incentives to promote traditional marriage and families…”

dear ADKOB readers, i haven’t been following any of what’s going on in the republican party’s presidential candidate campaigns simply because i am not a fan of bad fiction. for some reason, i was compelled to read a washington post blogpost by suzy Khimm this morning, titled “santorum wants tax code to reward traditional marriage and families” .  i’m still incredulous. this guy, along with romney, gingrich, perry, bachmann, going for the top position of the most powerful office in the world?  i then moved on to another article heading that caught my eye, this one by laura bassett of huffington post. it said  Rick Santorum: States Should Have Power To Ban Birth Control, Sodomy .  he also said, (paraphrasing) that the supreme court were a bunch of oligarchs in robes making anti-american decisions. prayers, huh?oh well, roll out the praying mats and prayer beads…oh, that’s the wrong religion, is it?? so only  the right type  of praying allowed? oh. hm.  and so what is this guy’s obsession with anal and uterus control anyway? methinks men like him like playing God. isn’t that a sin according to their beliefs?

oh well,  happy new year, everyone!

e_e, get ready for an ugly presidential campaign year. got some hard work to do, you and i ….

I will never stop wondering about people’s not so wonderful ways of trying make this world live and think like they do. Especially when they are lost themselves.

  2. I could say it is human nature to dominate and make people think the same way, but that has always ended badly. USSR, Hitler’s Germany just to name a few of the many that promised a government for the people and ended up a dictatorship. Or even worse a theocracy, like in Iran (where being a non-muslim is a crime.) I personally think if a school allows a student run Christian club to pray in schools, which my school had one they did group prayers in the mornings. I think they should promote, allow and encourage prayer groups run by students of the Islam, Muslim, Buddhist and all the other faiths of the American Faith rainbow.

I do agree on this one. If such a thing as a religios club is allowed for Christians, then it should be allowed for other religions as freedom of religion implies equality and not preference of one.

  4. You have to remember we have a lot of ignorant people in this country. So you have people acting like hypocrites saying they should allow prayer in school. If those same people saw a group of students with prayer rugs observing their Islam faith. Those same people would be against it. In Michigan there was a big stink about something related. I forget what it was about. I forget mainly because I saw it on a funamentalist Christian Anti-Islam website. The only reason my attention went to that website was because an author of ours posted something that put this blog on that website.

  5. Santorum recently said “We will never have elite smart people on our side.” Even an idiot like him can be right sometimes!
