In response to the post I wrote Stimulus Package and the Average Joe we received some pretty thought evoking comments that in there own would make great post and could invoke one hell of a debate.  So I decided to post them! 

Rise in Jobless Poses Threat to Stability Worldwide

PARIS — From lawyers in Paris to factory workers in China and bodyguards in Colombia, the ranks of the jobless are swelling rapidly across the globe.

CHINA A job fair in Beijing on Feb. 7. Millions of workers across China are looking for work but finding that factories are closing.

 Worldwide job losses from the recession that started in the United States in December 2007 could hit a staggering 50 million by the end of 2009, according to the International Labor Organization, a United Nations agency. The slowdown has already claimed 3.6 million American jobs.

Israel puts terms on Gaza truce

Gilad Shalit – Egypt has been leading talks that could lead to his release Israel will not agree to a truce in Gaza unless an Israeli soldier held by Palestinian militants is freed, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said. Gilad Shalit was captured by Palestinian militants in 2006. There have been reports that Egypt was close to brokering a long-term truce between Hamas and Israel. A punishing three-week Israeli assault on Gaza aimed at stopping militant rocket fire on Israel ended with separate ceasefires in January.

Octuplets PR team ‘death threats’

The octuplets were delivered nine weeks early (photo: NBC) The public relations firm representing the California woman who gave birth to octuplets says it is stepping down after getting death threats. The Killeen Furtney Group has received dozens of threats, the head of the Los Angeles agency, Joann Killeen, told the Associated Press (AP) news agency. Nadya Suleman, 33, gave birth to the eight babies on 26 January. The single mother of six other children has been criticised for using fertility treatments and receiving state aid.

 There’s a new “holy grail” for hackers — President Obama’s super-secure BlackBerry.
